All three of my kids love this game (ages 4,7, and 9) and so do their friends and parents. Great for eye-hand coordination. My 4-year old sometimes gets a little frustrated with the dancing movements and not being able to get his marbles in as quickly as his sisters, but he will then just use his fingers. He'll do the tweezers when it's still, though. Super fun!

I purchased this game to play with my mother, who has been in an excellerated mental decline in the last 3 months. She has always been an avid scrabble and cribbage player and can still construct words and calculate her score, but facing a full scrabble board is overwhelming for her.

This version of the game has proved ideal, as there is only one word on the board at a time. This will allow her to excercise her mental capacity and keep some positive enjoyment in her day.

It's also great in that it takes up very little space, so it can be played on a lap or hospital tray. We don't use the timer as that would add too much stress.

This is a fun way to learn spelling and we use her spelling contract with her words to encourage learning them for school. This is an excellent version of the Scrabble game. The game is well conceived and well made, and will give many hours of pleasure. Suggested improvements: use a tin box (chocolate box?) rather than a plastic one; glue the game pad on a piece of foam, and then fit game pad inside lid of tin box; line the die-shaker with thin foam to reduce the noise when shaking the dies.

I bought this for my 17 year old and I to play...it just looked so fun I couldnt resist.

I have not been disappointed! It is so much fun. Lots of physical activity involved and this was what I was after since my child is slim but total bookworm. We have been confined to playing inside as we are buried in snow; however I cant wait til spring to go out and play.

I plan on buying this for some other friends with younger children.

I got this for my 4 year old and he loves it! It's especially great for active kids because the saucers don't go straight up in the air, they may go up then left or up then right. The saucers are all over the place and hard to predict where they will land so it's fun to watch kids and grown ups trying to catch the saucers. Just a word of caution though, make sure no chairs or little toys are on the floor for kids to trip on. The nets are easy to assemble and the only disappointment so far is that the saucers sometimes get stuck in the machine. But it's great for toddlers perfecting their hand-eye coordination!

Of all the toys my children received this year which with inn laws, grandparents, aunts and uncles it was a lot, this toy really caught their attention more than the rest. they LOVE playing with this and its fun for me to join in as well. the main launching unit does get jammed quite often but my 5yo is able to fix the jams when they occur. even my 2yo, when she hears it jamming runs over to turn it off so her brother can wiggle the disc around that has gotten stuck. it launches one disc at a time and gives ample amount of time for the kids to fetch the disc before launching another one so that you dont have too much chaos. very easy to reload and assembly was 5 minutes. the only part that worries me is losing the discs that fly out. we've already lost 3, they're very small and you have to keep track of where they go or else you'll have trouble finding them. i recommend playing it in a room that has a lot of space and not too many areas where one of these can fly out of sight. also it needs a lot of storage space. and catching cups do not stack or condense

overall i highly recommend this toy. my kids have played it everyday for at least an hour for the past 4 days(they got some early presents) and they get to work off some energy as well chasing the discs around. they laugh uncontrolably while playing this and what more could you ask for?

this game kept my 6 y/o and 7 y/o laughing and playing for a solid hour. be advised it is VERY difficult to actually catch the little whirly gigs, but if your kids are not sensitive to such failures, they'll love it. and if they are, maybe you should buy this so they can learn that you can't ALWAYS get what you want, and you can't always win! there is a defo height advantage, since the tallest kid can reach above the shortest, but mine are the same height so no worries for us. however, dad kept catching them!!

sometimes the little circles get stuck...just wiggle the "flying saucer" and they un-stick.

the outer space music adds to the fun, it makes the kids giggle and is a good warning that the spinners are coming out. don't put it near a fence, they could go over it to the neighbor's yard!

My kids, 4 and 2, received this for Christmas. It looked like a lot of fun. We set it up and could not get the musical bar to stay on. It had to be balanced perfectly just in order to play it. It was fun for a few minutes. They ran under it and crawled. We tried to think of different ways to go under it. We tried, but they were a little too young to actually limbo. I can't imagine someone older trying to limbo under even the highest setting. The bar is that low. Plus, it can not be taken apart, so it takes up a lot of room that could be used for other toys. Even though it is the largest toy in the palyroom and stands out like a sore thumb it has not been touched since Chritsmas. Thank God I only spent $10 on it.

I bought this game for my 3 and 5 year old sons for Christmas, and they LOVE IT! Whenever friends come over they pull this game out right away. They played it on New years eve with another toddler, a 2 year old, my 11 year old sister and 20 year old brother. It was so fun to watch them all. It comes with a spinner to give you different ways to move, but they don't even care for that. the bar which has a Styrofoam covering comes off easily, but is a good thing, that way it doesn't hurt them when they hit it. It's easy to put together and break down, my oldest can do it himself, and as far as I can tell, it's made really well. I would recommend this game to walking ages and up! My boys are looking forward to taking it to the beach this summer.

My son got this for his 4th birthday and LOVES it. As mentioned before it is really hard to do when it's moving, it gets harder the higher you go. For now my son loves putting the balls on while it's still and then turning in on when he's all finished. I like that it uses a lot of hand eye coordination and pinching with the tongs is another useful aspect of this toy since a lot of kids have fine motor problems. The bonus of this game is that it is harder and will be a game he can use for awhile. He can put them on while it's still now and later when it's moving. The only drawback of this game (though no fault of theirs) is that my son finds it fun to use the tongs to snap the balls and see them fly, which means lost balls (luckily it comes with one extra of each color).

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my 3 year old cousin. She's always wanting me to hold up a stick so she can play limbo, so when I saw this, I figured it'd be a great toy for her. I would have to agree w/ other reviewers that the music is a bit loud but we were okay with it. We were disappointed at how low the highest pole level is. Wish it was a bit higher.

All the discs go into a compartment and then spins into the air. It comes down kind of in slow motion.

It is one of those fun non competitive games. I have two complaints. We've had to return one already after a few minutes of play. It wouldn't get the disc into the other well to spin. (It might've been handled roughly while putting the unit on the floor.) I hope this next one lasts longer. It would be nice if the box was designed to store the game more easily. All in all it is fun!

My 3 year old niece loved this toy and so did her 7 year old sister. The bar is very low, so older kids would have trouble "limbo-ing". I think it'll hold their attention for about a week and then find a spot in the corner of the basement. The accompanying DVD is cute.

Our 5yr old is TOTALLY into animals and wanted an eco-friendly, animal rescue birthday party. So we had a travelling zoo come visit during his party while she educated the kids about abandoned or abused exotic animals & insects and for our obstacle course, we hung a disc swing from a tree and placed toy alligators on the ground for the kids to 'swing over the alligator swamp', taped pictures of Go Diego Go's BO-BO brothers on empty plastic bottles and had them bowl with a soccer ball to knock them down. The HUGE hit (besides the zoo lady and animals) was this Giraffalaff Limbo. We had kids from 4-8yrs old excited to play this game. Unfortunately this was too small for the 7 and 8yr olds as they kept knocking the limbo bar off but the younger kids from 4-6yrs old LOVED it and played it over and over again. It worked exactly like it was supposed to and prompted a lot of smiles, laughs and giggles. There is a button that you push on the bar, then someone else spins the arrow and tells the crowd which sort of walk you have to try to do under the bar...ie: backwards walk, crab walk, crawl, etc. I still chuckle at the thought of my little one doing his 'crab walk' and 'bird walk'...for his crab walk, he had pinchers for his hands and fingers and simply walked under, all the kids flapped their arms for the bird walk...some chirped, one jutted his neck out like a chicken...it was the cutest thing.

It SEEMS like the poles will break at some point because they are made with that hard type of plastic but so far, they've been knocked down, used as a toy gun, been stepped on accidentally by (little) kids and SO FAR it's held up but I don't see it lasting much longer due to the type of plastic...it IS loads of fun though and if you can get it at a fair price, I'd say to definitely nab it for a bunch of laughs and giggles. I do wish that it were just a bit taller though so older kids can play along with younger kids so we'd get more use out of it but it's a blast for the younger crowd.

My daughter was really excited to get this game for her four year birthday. It was fun, however, the catepillar moves pretty fast. It was difficult for my 9 year old, myself, and especially my four year old, to get the marbles on. I wish there were different levels, like a slower one, for the younger kids. Overall, I guess ok product, but I'd increase the appropriate age level on the box, or implement the different levels idea.

I bought this game on a whim for a family reunion. The kids had nothing to do so I went to a store and bought this. No, I didn't buy it from amazon. Not only did the kids enjoy it but the adults, as well. Who would have known? It came be somewhat difficult but it wouldn't be fun without some challenge. I would recommend this game and I don't regret buying it at all.

I would have to disagree with the previous reviewer. I just bought this game for the pediatric clinic where I work, and I am very happy with my purchase. It was easy to assemble--it only took me about 5 minutes to put 3 AAA batteries in and snap the pieces together.

As for the sound level, all you need to do is put a piece of masking tape over the speaker, and it will not be nearly as loud. I found that it's just right.

It is a little inconvenient that you can't pull the leg out of the base, but you can easily disassemble the other parts of the pole so that it takes up less storage space.

Since the bar is not very high, it's definitely designed for younger kids (ages 8 and below). But if you incorporate various animal walks, such as bending over like a monkey, then you can include taller children. This is a fun game for children to develop dynamic balance. Just be creative, adapt the game, and kids will love it!

1) The Music is VERY LOUD with no volume control. Even my two preschoolers kept commenting that it was too loud!

2) The giraffe is not sensitive enough. He is supposed to laugh if touched by someone going under the limbo bar, but the only time he actually did was when the whole pole was knocked to the floor.

3) Once you set this up the bottom pieces can't be removed from the bases. Thus, it can't be stored in the box. It also can not be returned in the box. I am glad I bought mine locally so I can return it despite not being able to put the pieces back in the box. You'd need a really big box for return shipping if you bought this game online.

Bottom line: I'll be replacing this with a $1 swim noodle, a couple of broom sticks and a good cd!
